Write about a belief you've discarded. Talk about why you no longer believe in this belief?
Like to every child, my parents and the other grow ups around me use to tell me legends that i rarely believed in. They use to talk to me about Santa clause and how he would bring me presents if i was a good girl during the year, the tooth fairy whom gived 25 cents for every tooth you lost and the Easter bunny.
I never really use to believe in those tails and those surnatural peple and things but in one: Santa. Not living in the states, the story of Santa use to be told differently to me because we didn't go to sleep and open are presents on Christmas morning. We would start celebrating on Christmas eve eat at around 9 and at 11:30 they would send us downstairs, when we d come up, it was 12 and we would just open are presents. The adults use to always tell us that we just missed him and we seriously believed that.
One Christmas eve, we went downstairs and i had to use the restroom. Everyone just came up with me- being kids we were virtually stuck togeter. When we got up the stairs, we saw my mom and my aunt putting the presents under the tree. I was about 10 and had a few days before start doubting the grownups sayings and that just crowned it.
My mom told us that he had dropped them on the balcony and that now she was putting under the tree but none of us believed her being too grown for that anyways but my cousin who was 9. He argued with us that Santa was there and that my mom got the presents from him. Not wanting to make him cry i told everybody to just forget it and leave him alone.
These things are just part of the childhood, it s like dolls that most little girls play with. It s those stages in life that just make you want to go back and just be a child again. But there's nothing we can d about that but put the past behind and try to improve our future.
